BLAKE JAMES

Introducing "Breakout star" Blake James.  This 13-year-old dynamo was pushed to the front of the line by starring as the Lead in the drama " WE GROWN NOW." Blake’s phenomenal performance holds the center of the film together as the confident, persuasive, insightful, and charismatic Malik.  The film is also staring powerhouses Jurnee Smollett (plays his mom) and S.Epatha Merkenson (plays his grandmother).  WE GROWN NOW depicts the experiences of two young boys growing up in inner city Chicago, in the aftermath of the fatal shooting of a 7-year old boy in their housing complex.  

 

James' other television credits include:  BET+'s musical THE SOUND OF CHRISTMAS, Nickelodeon’s Little Len’s, AT&T’s Master’s Commercial and NBC's series FOUND. In Fact, his soothing and gifted singing voice helped him land the Sound of Christmas film.

Committed to being positive in every way, James is an advocate for anti-bullying and loves to rally for the “underdog!” Being somewhat smaller in stature Blake has ALWAYS performed on a “larger than life” capacity!  He makes his presence known whether on set, on the basketball court, football field or anywhere else he may find himself.  James is a natural leader, and his charisma is profoundly contagious. 

James is extremely talented and versatile in his character roles.  He currently plays basketball and is highly sought after; along with football.   Playing sports only enhances his very strong work ethic and his knack for competing at a high level.  Blake is highly intelligent, competitive, considerate, and very thoughtful.   

An Alabama native, Blake currently lives in Hoover, a suburb of Birmingham, AL.  James, a strong believer and contributes all his success to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  James is one of the most gifted, respectful, and professional child actors you will ever see.
